Anthony Fitzpatrick

Hi I am Anthony Fitzpatrick, Managing Director of Greenfeet Lawncare Limited. My interest in lawn care started over 30 years’ ago on a small farm in Laois, where I grew up. I developed a love for nature and the outdoors, and I realised fairly quickly that my future would always involve working outdoors. Early on in my career I started working as a trainee in my local Golf Club, The Heath, Portlaoise here I learned the fundamentals of green keeping and saw the hard work and passion that went into greenkeeping. This awakened my interest to learn more so in 1994 I undertook a 2 year greenkeeping course in Kildalton College in Kilkenny. This introduced me to the technical aspects of grass development and grass care. Little did I know that my passion for tending the beautiful green plant would ultimately be my inspiration for starting Greenfeet many years later. Over a twelve year period I travelled to the US to study everything from soil science and grass management to plant pathology, so that I could bring that level of deep knowledge and expertise to your lawn.

In my career I have worked on five different golf clubs out of the five I managed 3 of the Golf Course including Woodlands Golf Club in Kildare, Slieve Russell in Cavan and The Heritage Golf Club in Laois. The Heritage under my watch was recognized as Ireland’s best grow in and best managed golf course which hosted the Senior Irish Open and European events. I gained vast experience over the years on golf course management, golf course construction, and grow ins, taking soil samples and developing them into very high level championship golf courses. My knowledge and experience meant that I am often invited to advise on the creation and maintenance of other golf courses. Furthermore, I do consultancy work for Turfgrass offering technical expertise and agronomy services for clients both in Ireland and the UK.

In 2008, I started Greenfeet, and our passion was to bring the golf course experience to domestic household lawns with products and expertise to back them, we started franchising the Greenfeet brand in 2009 and we currently have 5 franchisees operating in 8 different counties. We are currently seeking people to come on board in new counties so that we can offer our services to a wider audience.
