Bare patches/Overseeding

Spring or Autumn is the best time to repair lawns.

Bare patches can be caused by any of the following:

• Not removing debris and leaves from the lawn on a regular basis.
• Excessive foot traffic
• Pet urine
• Chemical spillage
• Grub infestation
• Poor soil conditions
• Fungal disease
• Long spells dry hot weather

We try to instil in our customers, that grass is very resilient and can withstand great hardship.
So, all these lawn problems are resolvable with the right knowledge and expertise.
Bare patches can be sorted either by re-seeding or returfing.

If the area is very extensive, then total re-laying or reseeding would be the recommended option.
Lawns that are generally poor, weedy, or sparce will benefit from our lawn maintenance program.
If you take the reseeding option ground preparation to loosen the soil and allow a nice seed bed for the grass to grow is essential. Its important to note that regular watering will be required to get the seeds to germinate.

It is also important to use a High P Fertilizer to enhance the germination process. For those who want an instant lawn a pre-grown sod lawn is the solution.

Whilst this option can be seen as expensive, the benefits far outweigh the costs. But it is imperative that only a professional like Greenfeet carry out the work, as it is highly specialised work.

We fully guarantee to stand over all our work and ensure that it is carried out to the highest standards at all times.
